Smoking reduces the levels of antibodies your body uses to protect itself from invasion which leaves you more likely to get respiratory infections and even a cold and the flu. The good news is that quitting smoking is enough to bring these antibodies back in force.
4. Sleep More
Not only does a lack of sleep leave you feeling irritable, reduce your ability to perform your duties properly, and possibly make you addicted to caffeine, it also damages your immune system. The proteins released in sleep called cytokines are great for making you feel well-rested but they are also used to fight infections and controlling stress levels.
So not only does not sleeping enough make you cranky it also makes you more likely to fall ill and catch a cold. It’s also important to sleep when you’re ill as not sleeping enough can slow down recovery from an illness.
