Homemade Cough Syrup with Pineapple
Having a cough is a common problem, particularly during the winter time. When you have a cough you try to find the best cough syrup, but did you know that fruit is an excellent cough syrup? The best fruit for a cough is pineapple. Pineapples have been proven to be five times as effective as cough syrups at providing relief from a cough.
Recipe for pineapple cough syrup:
- 1 ½ cup of fresh, organic pineapple
- 1 piece of ginger; about 3-4cm
- 1 tsp honey
- ¼ cup of freshly squeezed organic lemon juice
- ½ tablespoon of cayenne pepper powder (optional)
Put all of the ingredients in a blender and mix. Drink ¼ of a cup of this mixture two or three times a day until your cough goes away. This drink has been scientifically proven to help tuberculosis patients.
